Christine & Andy welcome you to The Withies Bed and Breakfast, our home located in the heart of Wool village Dorset, gateway to the Isle of Purbeck & Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
We are exclusively for adults and aim to maintain a high standard of hospitality & service, with off-road parking and Wool railway station less than a ten minute walk away. We also offer secure cycle storage. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements, please see our menu below.
The area abounds in forest trails, coastal paths, and amazing flora and fauna perfect for cyclists, walkers and lovers of the great outdoors.
In close proximity to both Monkey World and the Tank Museum. There are bus links to Wareham, Poole, Dorchester, Weymouth and Lulworth Cove, we are ideally situated as a base to explore.
We want you to be as comfortable, cared-for and relaxed as possible ensuring your stay with us in this beautiful part of Dorset is a lasting memory.

We are situated in the heart of Wool village gateway to the world-famous Jurassic coastline that stretches for over 95 miles. Our accommodation is ideally suited for walkers, cyclists and those who just want to get away from it all. The local area has something to offer for everyone.
Jurassic Coast Discover 185 million years of Earth’s history along 95 miles of the Dorset and East Devon coast. Recognised by UNESCO in 2001 it forms part of England’s only natural World Heritage Site.
Monkey World (Ape Rescue Centre) assists governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild. At the Ape centre, refugees of this illegal trade as well as those that have suffered abuse or neglect are rehabilitated into natural living groups.

The Tank Museum is a collection of armoured fighting vehicles at Bovington Camp in Dorset. Large display of tanks with interactive activities and regular exhibitions and events.

This iconic bay has a great beach with numerous water-based activities and has one of the oldest pubs in Dorset. It is also close to the famous rock formation of Durdle Door.

Steeped in history - the castle ruins dominate the landscape whilst below them, the beautiful village of Corfe offers great pubs and coffee shops and a model village.

A must for everyone visiting the area. The steam train runs from the Corfe to Swanage through the Dorset countryside. We would suggest you use the park and ride at Norden station as Swanage can be very busy during the summer months.

Cycling Secure facilities are available at The Withies for any guest wishing to bring their own bicycles. There are endless trails and cycle tracks. Also great for walkers. The Isle of Purbeck offers an amazing selection of safe, traffic-free cycling within just over 2 hours 15 minute train journey time from London. Wool is the main gateway to many of the cycle routes.
Lulworth Equestrian Centre is a BHS approved riding and livery establishment. Situated in the heart of the Dorset countryside, with a range of ponies from 11 hands to horses up to 16.3 hands, suitable for a variety of ages and abilities.

There are several excellent golf courses within a 5-mile radius of The Withies including, The East Dorset Golf Resort, 27 holes each 9 with its own identity and Wareham golf club, 18 hole course with an excellent clubhouse.
Sam & Kat offer you a warm welcome to The Ship inn, a traditional local pub serving classic British food, and a Sunday roast to die for. Tuesday is quiz night.
Donna & David welcome you to The Black Bear serving hearty home-cooked food and delicious desserts. They have a selection of at least 3 ever-changing, well-kept real ales and log fires. Curry Night once a month.
Steve & Gill offer a friendly welcome to The Seven Stars offers something for everyone’s taste. ranging from fresh steaks, fresh fish, vegetarian meals and specials of the day.
The 29029 Restaurant offers fine upmarket Nepalese and Indian Cuisine set in a comfortable, fresh and modern interior with soft lighting and warm ambience. Diners can enjoy a variety of dishes from an extensive mouth-watering menu.
